The Washington Department of Fish &Wildlife (WDFW) announced on September 5 in this PRESS RELEASE the TENTATIVE schedule for the Fall 2018 Razor Clam Season.
An update has just been posted concerning the first of TWO required Marine Toxin test. And we are happy to report that the test results look favorable and may lead to a confirmed dig within the next couple of weeks.
Our good friends at the Washington Department of Health (WDOH) dictate the safety of the all shellfish prior to confirming digs. The protocol requires that all razor clam samples collected from that beach must test under the action level (20 ppm for domoic acid; 80 µg/100g for PSP; and 16 µg/100g for DSP) on both of the two required sample collections.
